Balen-Neet Boys’ School

Papenberg District Vennen, 2490 Balen
Design: 1941

Municipal boys’ school with teacher’s residence. Elongated building with classrooms under one large gabled roof. The teacher’s residence is connected to this, but clearly distinguishable at the same time. Some forms could be considered more traditional: for example, the small dormer above the school entrance or the framing of windows and doors of the teacher’s residence. But the modern is also present: the prominent roofs and the large number of window openings to provide sufficient light for the students.
