Balen Town Hall
Vredelaan 1, 2490 Balen
1951
In 1941, plans were made to expand the town hall according to a design by Jozef Schellekens; a fairly large extension was envisioned at the rear with a similar appearance; however, the work was ultimately not carried out. In 1951, the former fire department storage area was converted into an office according to a design by Jozef Schellekens; simultaneously, toilets and bicycle storage were built in the ‘courtyard’. It was used as a town hall until 1976 when the municipal services were transferred to the new administrative complex on Vredelaan.
